“Tennis in the Parks”

Registration Deadline is June 5th before 4:00 pm. Any registrations not in office by that date will be charged a $10 late fee regardless of postmark date if mailed in . Make all checks to :Lancaster Parks & Recreation. Absolutely NO registrations will be accepted at the tennis courts. All registration must be at the Park Office at 1507 E. Main St. All events will be held at the Rod Ishida Tennis Center on the Lancaster High School Campus.

Quick Start Tennis – Age(s): 5 to 8 year olds. Cost: Resident Fee $30, Non Resident Fee $40. Start date June 18th.

The summer tennis camp is designed for children ages 9 to 18. There are two different levels available. All participants receive a camp T-shirt. Start date for following camps June 18th.

Middle School – Ages 9 to 14. Beginners or advanced beginners. Cost : Resident Fee $30, Non Resident Fee $40
Junior Development – Designed for players on high school or junior high school teams. Cost: Resident Fee $60, Non Resident Fee $70.

“Summer Art Camp”

Get creative with the Summer Art Camp at Rising Park! Available to ages 7-12. Cost is $60 for Lancaster residents, $70 for non residents. Fee to cover cost of supplies $20. Classes instructed by Carla Young. To register visit park office or call             (740)687-6651      .

Camp 1, All About Animals:
June 24th, 25th and 26th from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.

Camp 2, Sculpture Fun:

“Earth Camp”

June 11th, 12th and 13th 2013. From 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM at Alley Park
(2805 Old Logan Rd., Lancaster, OH 43130)

This camp is for students who live in, or are going to school in Fairfield County, and are entering grades 3, 4, and 5, for the 2013- 2014 school year. Each day will have a different theme. At camp, students will attend various activities such as recycling or reusing crafts, environmental activities, hiking, pond study, etc. For more information or to register, please contact FSWCD  (740) 653-8154.  Earth Camp is sponsored by: Fairfield County Community Action Recycling and Litter Prevention Program, Fairfield Soil and Water Conservation District.

There is no charge for camp. Students will be registered on a first-come, firstserved basis as all completed applications and forms are turned in to FSWCD. “Kids in College – Ohio University Lancaster”

Now in its 33rd year, this program provides and opportunity for highly motivated students to reinforce instruction they receive in school.  Class size is limited so students receive individual attention.  The courses are designed to be a “hands-on” experience.  Students entering fourth grade up to and including students entering the ninth grade are eligible for the program.  The three, week-long dates for this year’s program are June 18-22, June 25-20 and July 9-13. “YMCA Summer Day Camp”

Camp Discovery is a nine-week camp that runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Opening day is Monday, June 11th with camp ending on Friday, August 17th. Camp is for children who are entering Kindergarten through those who are entering the 7th grade. Camp Discovery offers fun, age appropriate activities. Camp “Bug-A-Palooza”

Enter the wacky world of insects this year with our staff as we “catch the bug” and start buzzing about our arthropod friends. Spend time in the field with our park staff entomologist and in the laboratory with our bug scientist learning about the pieces and parts of our bug friends. Come visit the park and join our bug brigade!
Like last year, we will have an overnight adventure for our Trailblazers. Pack your bags for a camp out on Thursday night. You will enjoy a jam packed schedule of special activities and be able to spend more time strengthening new friendships. Due to the overnight stay, Friday’s pick up time will be 12:00 noon.

Pathfinders – 6-9 year olds. Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. 9am-3pm. Lancaster Resident Fee $85, Non-Resident $100.

“Alley Park Kids”

This program is designed for children ages 3, 4, & 5 to learn, play, and experience nature first hand. Classes will meet on a weekly basis in the lower level of the beautiful Goslin Nature Center located at the Charles Alley Memorial Park. Classes meet every Wednesday at 9:30-11:30am Sept. 4, 2013 – April 30, 2014.

Cost: Lancaster Resident $45.00 per month, Non-Lancaster Resident $55.00 per month, OR Pay for the entire year in ADVANCE and save a whole month’s payment! Lancaster Resident $270.00 per year, Non-Lancaster Resident $300.00 per year.

“Saturday’s in the Park”

This is program is for families with children ages 3-12. All activities take place at Alley Park on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 10:00-11:30 AM. Preschoolers and their adult caregiver will stay together for all activities. Elementary aged children will have separate, age appropriate activities. Programs will be nature oriented and include a craft, hike and/or game. The cost per child is $4.00 for Lancaster Residents, $5.00 for Non-Residents, and a $10.00 Flat Rate for 3 or more children.

“Nature Club”

“Nature Club” is an exciting program offered by the Lancaster Parks and Recreation Department for children in Kindergarten through 4th Grade. The Club meets in the lower level of the Goslin Nature Center at Alley Park from September through April on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. The children will enjoy nature hikes, crafts, games and other activities related to a new topic each week. Pre-registration is NOT required. The cost per class is $3.50 for residents and $4.50 for Non-Residents.

“Home School Nature Activities”

Alley Park has an opportunity for homeschooled children ages 5-10! Themed programs are 90 minutes and include a hike, craft and related activities. Offered on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm. The cost per class is $3.50 for residents and $4.50 for Non-Residents.
